Project Leader (Ref: 21811111)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Leader who will be an integral member of our rapidly growing Performance Sensing business. The company is looking for a strong business professional with experience in a manufacturing environment and a demonstrated track record for project execution, operations management, customer management, and profit improvement. The PMT is responsible for developing plans for various project tasks, managing both business and technology risks.

This role will be focused on the TPMS product line and will involve daily alignment with both customers and the internal cross-functional organization. Strong interpersonal skills are needed to work effectively with all levels within the organization, suppliers, and customers. This candidate is results oriented, has the ability to influence others, and the motivation and ability to independently reach across geographical and cultural boundaries to solve problems. This role requires someone who is eager to excel in a fast paced environment working on highly complex projects.

The role requires you to be involved in all aspects of project management from pre project award through to customer launch and subsequent change management requirements.

 What are your tasks and responsibilities?

  • Project management for new product launches of significant importance to the business.
  • Organization, planning and leading international project teams.
  • Managing the execution of the projects on time, on cost, on quality.
  • Set up proposals for additional (organizational) actions to department management to prevent possible delay in execution of plans.
  • Understanding customer requirements and expectations, and developing/driving actions and schedules needed to support them.
  • Utilise appropriate tools for project management and maintain a comprehensive project file that ensures that all defined operating procedures are followed and adequate records maintained as per company procedures.
  • Interacting frequently with our customers and functional management levels.
  • Achieving results in support of business goals in a matrixed, team oriented, global environment; working with global cross-functional teams consisting of engineering, quality, marketing, sales, customer service and operations.

What is your background?

  • You must have a Degree in relevant Engineering discipline
  • It would be desirable that you have a background in an Automotive or a high-tech development organisation with high volume of physical products.
  • 2years experience in Project Management and direct interaction with customers.
  • You have leadership qualities and experience with managing professionals, you are result-oriented, excellent planning and organising skills and Customer oriented.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are a must.
  • It would be desirable that you are fluent in a second language.

The role requires you to work closely with individuals at all levels within the organisation and to be a trusted representative of Sensata in your customer interaction so as a minimum you must have the following: excellent communication, active listening, coaching, appropriate and thought out decision making skills. A proven ability to work autonomously are essential to the role.
