Senior ESH Advisor (Ref: 2190355)

You will be joining a team of ESH professionals in supporting the day-to-day running of an extremely busy and dynamic environment.

Reporting to the ESH Manager, main duties will include:

  •  Assisting the ESH Manager in the development of ESH strategies and actions plans
    •    Leading the Health & Safety and the Environmental Committees at site level and work in partnership with other committees/employee representatives and staff as required
    •    Assisting with the maintenance and development of the ISO45001 and ISO14001 management standards.
    •    Leading the introduction of company wide environmental, health & safety policy and procedures at site level.
    •    Fully investigation of any incident (accidents/near miss) and comprehensively complete all paperwork.
    •    Acting in an advisory capacity regarding health, safety and environmental issues.
    •    Being responsible for the provision of Personal Protective Equipment and safety equipment as is necessary.
    •    Maintaining adequate records on ESH issues in order to comply with legal requirements
    •    Conducting ESH audits across the company in order to identify gaps in procedures and to ensure that the company is meeting all legislative requirements.
    •    Assisting with the identification of ESH training needs for the company and organize/ facilitate and delivery of training.
    •    Supporting the development of Junior ESH staff where applicable
    •    Liaising with other business leaders and salient partners on the introduction and management of ESH standards at the site

Essential Criteria
•    You must be Degree qualified in Environmental Health, Science or Health and Safety
•    Preferably 5+ years’ experience in an environmental, health and safety position
•    NEBOSH qualification is desirable
•    Experience of ISO45001/OHSAS18001 and ISO 14001
•    Comfortable working independently, as part of a team and leading project groups
•    Flexible and positive approach to work
•    Accomplished IT skills in Word & Excel


Desirable Criteria
•    Environmental, Safety or Health Auditing qualifications
•    Experience of working in a high volume Manufacturing environment

As this role will involve travel between the Carrickfergus and Antrim premises, a current driving license and access to a car is essential.  This role will also require European travel and possibly further afield.
